2FAGuard is an application modern, free And open source which will allow you to centralize and properly manage your dual authentication codes and then access them in the blink of an eye.
This way, you import your existing 2FA tokens from other apps (Google Authenticator, Bitwarden and Authenticator Pro) in no time and it’s immediately usable. You can even add new codes simply by scanning the QR Code that a site gives you. And if you’re the paranoid type (and you’re right), you can also export your data whenever you want to keep it safe elsewhere.
On the security side, the guys behind 2FAGuard didn’t do things by halves since the data is encrypted in AEGIS-256 and stay nice and warm on your device. And the cherry on the cake is that the app is compatible with Windows Hello This way you can authenticate with your fingerprint, face or a security key.
As you can see, the 2FAGuard interface is rather minimalist, but that’s intentional. We have quick access to everything we need: the list of our tokens, a button to add new ones, another for the settings, and that’s it. Simple and effective. Also note that you can choose to lock the app at startup or after a certain period of inactivity. You can even activate an “incognito” mode that hides the codes on the screen. Practical if you use your PC in public places.
On the download side, you have the choice between two versions: a Windows 10/11 app from the Microsoft Store which updates automatically in the background, and a classic “desktop” version which has the advantage of being portable, practical for using it from a USB key.
