Latest Apple rumours point towards new Magic Mouse and foldable iPad

A new report from the analyst firm Display Supply Chain Consultants claims that Apple is working to bring OLED displays to more products, including an iPad mini refresh, in 2026.

Beyond that, the iPad Air might get an OLED in 2027. A previous rumour suggested that the MacBook Pro might get an OLED screen in 2026, moving a vast majority of Apple’s devices from LCD or mini LED over to OLED.

The same firm also thinks that Apple is going to create and sell an 18.8-inch foldable iPad Pro in 2027, but Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman thinks it will be closer to 2028 when it actually comes out. Apparently, Apple is still working out how to alleviate the crease and wants the tablet to look like a single flat sheet of glass.

The final rumour that popped up this week is that a new Magic Mouse is on the way. This one will reportedly move the charging port from the bottom. Mark Gurman reports that Apple is working on a few prototypes “that better fit the modern era.” While this is exciting, it’s still 12-18 months away.

Out of all the rumours, I’m the most excited about the OLED iPad mini. The current model is nice, but the screen isn’t great for watching movies and an OLED display would improve this considerably. I also hope the mouse will work better with left and right scrolling and be larger and more ergonomic.
